8 Piece Plain Ripple Handle Lock Pick Set

I received 6 tension tools and 6 picks. The picks look different, and the handles aren't textured. They work amazingly though, and I've picked a few locks already. This set is very sturdy, and I think what you actually get is better than the picture. This is my first set, and I would recommend it to others.

The set is well made and not cheap feeling. It is a great small set for someone training or a quick set to grab for more experienced locksmith. The tools work great. I would recommend this set to anyone.

Great for beginners. Steel is good and durable. I totally love it. Small enough, put it in any bag or pocket and forget till you need it. Notes: Pouch is extremely hard to open. Also both tension wrenches are of the same size. For this price - the set is excelllent

This is exactly what I was looking for. It had a great price and it came fast on the date it was supposed to come.

I was looking for something to open my masterlock... and didn't have time to go to a locksmith. Looked up some youtube videos and it looked real easy with a bobby pin and paperclip. After about an hour of fumbling around with my lock, I looked at the clips once more and I realized that their "paper clips" were shaped perfectly to fit the lock. So off to amazon I went to look for a lock pick set. I found a set for around $15. Only problem... it only had 2 tools! Seemed like a ripoff so I did some research and found this site. I ordered this basic set for $18.95 and now I have 8 quality tools. Fit and finish are excellent. Took me ten minutes to open up my masterlock. I found another one lying around I opened it in less than 30 seconds. I highly recommend this product and this company.

GENERAL: The lock pick set I ordered from Southern Specialties is an excellent pick set. It has all the basic picks except for a rake pick, which I later ordered seperately. I may buy higher-end version of this set from here in the future. BACKGROUND: I used to do some picking years ago, and recently got started again. I would say I'm somewhere between beginner and intermediate skill level. HANDLES: The Plain Ripple Handles (PRH) on this set provide more grip and is little more comfortable than plain smooth steel. If you need extra grip you can purchase slide on rubber handles seperately. POUCH: These picks fit nicely in the supplied pouch. The pouch also has room for a couple more picks than are in the set, so you can add a few other picks. The pouch is made of some sort of faux leather which works well and is still holding up fine after about a week of solid use. I wish it was actual leather, but for $15 I won't complain. USAGE: I have mostly used the hook pick and the short torsion tool, there is some minor bending on both of these tools but it is very minor and does not affect their use. I have sucessfully opened 7 different 4, 5 & 6 pin locks since getting this set, for a total of 200 to 300 sucessful picking. RECCOMEND?: I would definately reccomend this lock pick set for basically anyone, especially beginners and kids (that are old enough to pick), due to their lost cost, and high functionality. SHIPPING: These arrived quickly in a thick cardboard envelompe, so the mail carrier actually was able to fit in the mailbox so they didn't lay in the snow. When you check out you pay a certain amount for shipping, but after the item ships they refund whatever was not spent on shipping. I.e. when I checked out I paid $12.18 for shipping, but after they shipped the item they refunded me $8.63. I was very happy to be refunded for that, most companies don't do that.

I bought this as my very first lock pick set. As soon as I got it (which the shipping was very fast) I sat down and picked a Master No. 3 lock within about15 minutes. That's the first thing I've ever picked and was amazed it actually worked. This is a great set for beginners I didn't give it 5 stars because I wish it had a manual with it since the set IS meant for beginners. I really like this company too because they are honest. They refunded me $8 dollars on shipping because it only cost around like $3 bucks to ship which most companies would not do. I will purchase from this again as soon as I get better and lock picking
